Burma – still not released

1. Februar 2021 Militärputsch in Burma

11 Monate Arbeit an diesem Wandbild.
Mir fällt auf, daß diesmal der Prozess genau so zäh ist
wie das große Thema.

Ich finde Hilfe bei dem alten chinesischen Buch der Wandlungen,
dem I Ging, und frage:

Ich komme bisher nicht durch zur Lösung.
Was tun?

Antwort:  Nr. 62 „Des Kleinen Übergewicht.“

Gelingen.
Fördernd ist Beharrlichkeit.
Man mag kleine Dinge tun,
Man soll nicht große Dinge tun.
Der Vogel soll zunächst im Nest bleiben,
bis er flügge ist,
sonst verbraucht man sich und seine Kraft
und erreicht doch nichts.

Erste Linie bewegt, das Zeichen wandelt sich zu Nr.55 „Die Fülle “

Die Fülle hat gelingen.
Mit der Haltung eines Königs kannst Du sie erreichen.
Sei nicht traurig;
du mußt sein wie die Sonne am Mittag.

Hier geht es um die aktive Beherrschung von Verzweiflungszuständen.

So gebe ich mir selbst eine Haltung,
und sehe mit einem gewissen traurigen Trotz:

Der sehr langsame Flügelschlag des Zaubervogels Garuda.
Die verbrannten roten Elefanten, die ich im Traum sah, und die doch überleben.
Der stetige Schlag auf die Pfanne, das Zeichen des Widerstands.
Die Buchstaben C.D.M. tauchen auf: „Civil Disobedience Movement“.
Die alte Waage der Gerechtigkeit.

So ist es! – noch nicht erlöst. Doch mit zäher Hoffnung.

11 months of work on this mural.
I notice that this time the process is just as slow
as the big issue.

I find help in the ancient Chinese Book of Changes,
the I Ching, and I ask the question:

I can’t get through to the solution yet.
What to do?

Answer:

No. 62 „The Little One’s Overweight.„

Success.
Perseverance is conducive.
One may do small things,
One should not do big things.
The bird should stay in the nest,
until it is fledged,
otherwise one uses up oneself and one’s strength
and still achieve nothing.

First line moves, the sign changes to No.55 „The Fullness„.

The fullness has succeeded.
With the attitude of a king you can reach it.
Do not be sad;
you must be like the sun at noon.

Here it is about the active mastery of states of despair.

So I can decide to give myself an attitude
and see with a certain sad defiance:

The very slow beating of the wings of the magic bird Garuda
The burnt red elephants that I saw in a dream, and yet they survive.
The steady beat on the pan, the sign of resistance
The letters C.D.M. appear: „Civil Disobedience Movement“
The old scales of justice.

That’s it! – Not yet released. But with tenacious hope.
